Calcium Silicon(CaSi)

The CaSi alloy main components are silicon and calcium, and it also contains different amounts of impurities such as iron, aluminum, carbon, sulfur and phosphorus.Iron and steel industry is used as calcium additive,deoxidizer,desulfurizer and denaturant of non-metallic inclusions. Cast iron industry is used as inoculant and denaturant. According to the different contents of calcium and silicon, silicon calcium alloy can be divided into different types.

Calcium Silicon(ferrosilicon calcium) lump/grain

  • Ferrosilicon calcium(CaSi) is mainly used for deoxidization, degassing and sulfur fixation of liquid steel.There is a strong exothermic effect when silicon calcium is added into molten steel. Calcium turns into calcium vapor in molten steel, which stirs the molten steel and is beneficial to the floating of nonmetallic inclusions. After deoxidation, the shape of non-metallic inclusions is easy to change. Therefore, silicon calcium alloy is used to produce clean steel, high-quality steel with low oxygen and sulfur content, and special performance steel with extremely low oxygen and sulfur content. In the production of cast iron, besides deoxidation and purification,it also plays a role of inoculation,which helps to form fine or spherical graphite,makes graphite evenly distributed in gray cast iron,reduces the tendency of white cast iron,and increases silicon,desulfurizes and improves the quality of cast iron.

Calcium Silicon(CaSi) Grades

  • In the secondary refining technology of steel,the content of oxygen and sulfur in steel can be reduced to a very low level by using calcium silicon alloy powder or core wire for deoxidation and desulfurization.
  • The form of sulfide in steel can be controlled and the utilization rate of calcium can be improved.
  • Specification and sizes can be adjusted according to customer’s request.
